Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data we at Sandessh.com collect, why, and your choices. It is written in line with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

1. What we collect

• Account details: your name, username, email address, mobile number and company name (if you give one), and your password stored in encrypted (hashed) form.
• Email settings you add: if you connect your own email account to send or read mail, the app password you give is stored encrypted and used only for that.
• Sandessh ID mail: mail sent to and from your @sandessh.com address is stored in your mailbox so you can read it.
• Payment records: plan, amount, date and the PayU transaction reference. Card, UPI and bank details are entered on PayU's secure pages; we never receive or store them.
• Technical data: login times, IP address and a device identifier, used for security (for example blocking repeated wrong passwords) and to show you which devices are linked.

2. What we do not collect

The files you link in File Recorder stay on your own computer. Their contents are not uploaded to us, except for the files you choose to email, which pass through our server only at the moment of sending.

Their names are not uploaded either — unless you switch on "Keep a copy of this list in my account". Then only your sheet names and file names (never the files themselves) are saved in your account, so you can restore the list on another computer. Switching it off deletes that copy.

3. Why we use your data

• to create and run your account and provide the services you ask for;
• to send you verification codes, password-reset codes and service messages;
• to process payments and keep records required by law;
• to keep the service secure and prevent misuse.

We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we do not send marketing mail without your consent.

4. Who we share it with

Only with service providers we need to run Sandessh.com — our web and email hosting provider and our payment partner PayU — and only as much as they need. We may disclose data if required by law or a lawful order of an authority.

5. Cookies and local storage

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in, and your browser's local storage to remember your file list and recent mail on your own device. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

6. How long we keep it

We keep account data while your account is active. Payment records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. You can ask us to delete your account; we will then delete or anonymise your data, except records we must keep by law.

7. Security

The site uses HTTPS. Passwords are hashed, saved email app passwords are encrypted, and access to our systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep it private.

8. Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw consent, by emailing info@sandessh.com. Complaints can be sent to our Grievance Officer, Sandessh.com at the same address — see Contact Us.

9. Changes

We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the latest version.
